I'm a lover of Shakespeare. You're probably a lover of Shakespeare. Our friends are lovers of Shakespeare. Despite this, there are still one or two plays I haven't read, one or two you haven't read, one or two they haven't read. Oh, we think, I'll get to Timon of Athens eventually. Or, I should really sit down and read Troilus and Cressida all the way through.
But we are busy people, and despite our Bardolatry, Timon sits on the shelf unread. What we need is a fire lit under us. Some sort of method forcing us to read this last few plays.
Well someone has thrown down the gage, if you will. Starting March 1st, the members of 38:38 will endeavor to read 38 plays in 38 days (throwing in Edward III on the 39th day for good measure).
The order of the plays will be roughly in the order scholars think they were written, but with the Histories read in historical order of events. Starting March 1, the plays will be:
